Proposed protocols are for a scoping review to assess the impact of WHO classified healthcare technologies on the workload of physicians or general practitioners in primary care settings. Over the years, healthcare systems have invested considerably in key technologies, such as EMR, remote consultation / video consultation and / or patient apps. While there is substantial evidence to illustrate the impact of these technologies on patient outcomes across different settings, however, there is limited evidence to assess the impact of these on Physician workload. Through this scoping review, the author intends to map out the evidence answering the following key question:

What is the impact of popular digital interventions, such as EMRs, patient app/DFDs and VC/TC, on physician’s workload and burnout in primary care?
