Overview

This is a hand-digitised Enggano-Dutch word list derived from Helfrich's (1916) “Nadere Bijdrage Tot de Kennis van Het Engganeesch”.

This version (0.1.1) now includes the word list in a tab-separated file (.tsv) that has the following features (in the columns)ː

• common/standardised transcription, also in segmented format (Columns form_common_transcription and form_common_segments)
• phonemic transcription in segmented format (Column form_ipa_segments)
• Indonesian translation (#4) of the English gloss using the deeplr R package (Column indonesian) (R code file here)
• • We thank Rena Dusee for checking the English translation of the Dutch gloss.

In addition, we include the following files:

• The orthography profile
• The variant form table
• R codes to pre-process the database (all ended with .R extension)
• Output of the Indonesian translation in .rds format where the source is Dutch or English.

The one-line, multiple forms in the original are split into separate rows (#5)
