was immediately disappointed. It became apparent, all of a sudden, that the charm and theatre was a facade. The presenter was eye-catching, charismatic and alluring, but the holes were plain to see - if you could escape the entrapment of the enchanting voice espousing the deep spirituality.

Out of a frustrated curiosity, Jesse continued watching. There were references to scripture, but other times the presenter would go seemingly off-piste in vindictive rants apparently based off personal vendettas. The preaching was a spectacle, but it felt like a fake performance to Jesse.

It became more and more obvious that the aim of this video was something different to the face of it. Jesse was confused. It didn’t appear to be monetary - there were no adverts, sponsors or product placements. There was barely even encouragement to purchase religious objects or texts.

The tone of the video became darker as it progressed. The background music had ceased, as though the editors had lost interest halfway through. Jesse was now three hours in and any semblance of structure had been completely lost.

Expletives were randomly yelled as vague allusions to devils and spirits, and the presenter’s point became almost unintelligible.

Jesse clicked through to the end, finally sick of the screeching. On the screen was text that directed to a link.

Jesse did not click it.
