"exploring the meaning of life" (S24)
exploring the meaning of life by looking into some stories of life from the roman catholic church which talks about how all things on the earth were created by god and mankind was created to be the manager of the environment and creatures. This perspective has made Jesse rethink the role of humanity in the climate change crisis as he was not an activist on such an issue. By understanding this catholic perspective he sort of understands why some people think human could use all the resources in the world to develop the economy without considering the slide effects on the environment.
From Jesse's view, this kind of misinterpretation of the religious article is horrifying as he thinks there always has been limit on using freedom even if one has the ultimate power to use it. Not to mention, Pope Francis said Climate change is a road to death and a disaster caused by mankind which requires leaders to take action to deal with it. These developments make Jesse confused with the religious beliefs as they are very different understandings that exist in one church already. Under this context, Jesse continues to feel a bit lost in the area of faith despitebeings a catholic.
