as she was, she was easily distracted, returning to the thoughts running through her head. While she was unable to focus completely on the video, as she went back and forth between thinking about all the work she had to do and the people she needed to reach out to, she would catch only glimpses of what was being said. The preacher was talking about the passage in Matthew: "Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." While the messages were not evil, they were overwhelming. As she continued to listen, however, she realized that a large portion of the anxiety that was overwhelming her was the fear of the responses. She knew she had tasks to do, but she knew that for every question she answered, there would be four more that popped up. Luckily, it was only about 2 o'clock. As she continued to hear the preacher, she remembered Colossian's indictment that everything we do should be done for the lord. Therefore, she began to think about the texts that would be easiest to reply to. She took the next hour to reply to 10 messages, explaining why she wasn't able to complete the assignment on time. She took the next hour to begin catching up on her work and realized that the reminder to do things for the lord could be a real motivator for the tedious work. She clocked out at 5, still behind, but remembering not to work or worry about the work that was coming, so she went home and enjoyed dinner with her husband and they watched a movie together.
