"His phone began to ring" (S27)

His phone began to ring. Hesitant to answer, Jesse ignored the call and continued watching the video. But Jesse would not be left alone so easily as the ringing persisted. The tenacious and repetitive noise forced Jesse's hand to dart frustratingly toward his phone. Answering the call, he waited in suspense. The number was not one Jesse recognised, so he refrained from speaking, but so did the other individual on the line. The tension and awkwardness grew.

“Hello, Jesse,” beckoned the unfamiliar voice.

Jesse paused, scouring his memories to ascertain who this person may be,

“Umm, who is this?” he mumbled.

Jesse appeared markedly startled by this singular phone call, especially for someone who works as a telephone marketer.

“I have been waiting for you Jesse, for a very long time”.

Sweat began to trickle down poor Jesse’s brow, his fist clenched and his pulse racing, who could this be? Why are they speaking in cryptics? These thoughts racing through Jesse’s mind, he became irritated

“Sorry, I’m not sure exactly what this is about, but I am extraordinarily busy at the moment. Was there anything important you needed to discuss with me? How is it you know my name?”.

The mysterious voice softly replied...

“I have always known your name, Jesse, and I am never too busy for you; you have begun to knock on the door and so I am here to answer”
