"As he watched he intently, the words began to carry more meaning" (S64)
As he watched he intently, the words began to carry more meaning to him. It was like it developed weights and had attached its self to his chest. You see, Jesse had been struggling with an online addiction, where he was spending a lot more time being distracted by the affairs that were portrayed online, on various social media platforms, and these addictions had an adverse effect on him.
Jesse no longer replied his messages on time or attended to his work faster, he procrastinated because he spent so much time online, and the most pricking of them all, he spent most of his mornings on the phone rather than on his knees with his God.
The more he listened the more he understood his situation and the more the words began to instill a level of conviction for his present predicament. Hurriedly, he picked up a book and a pen to jot down the words he got from this preacher, things he felt would help him overcome the addiction he knew was now affecting certain areas of his being. For an hour he carried on with his focus hinged to the message like there was nothing else happening in his surroundings.
By the time he was done he was so impressed with what he had heard. he said to himself, “how could a man, a simple man have such direct words to a person he has never met in his life, to me!”.
This feeling made him search for more messages that this preacher had aired in the past and right there Jesse made a schedule to listen to them all.
That was day 1 of the preacher who became his pastor from afar.
