My father kept a diary for most of his life, including during WWII. In his 80s, he started typing up his notes on a PC and shared them with the family. Since we had recently self-published our own local history book, we decided to offer to produce a book of his wartime memories for his 91st birthday, which he could pass on to family and friends. He was delighted, and in the end, we printed some 70 copies which he gave to others.
