She was born on the south coast of Ireland. A small quiet plane landed on [?]. She was a teenager and saw planes circling and got fascinated. [About?] 1941 but not sure. A newspaper had an application to join the Air Force. She applied to be in the Air Force and was asked to visit England to join. She was placed in different stations including Germany. She chose the telephone exchange. War was over at that time. She did both gliding and sailing. She served 7 or 8 years from 1945 to 1953. She met her husband in Germany. She was shocked to find Belfast was occupied and didn't like it at all. She got to fly in a spitfire in [Leconfield?] in Yorkshire.
