Inventorium Sepulchrale, page 169, note: \This elegant pendent ornament is engraven but not accurately in the Nenia Britannica p. 67 – C.R.S.\""Silver cross, length 3.15 cm. Roman cross with arms slightly expanding towards ends. At centre a dome-headed rivet with beaded silver wire frame inside a lightly engraved circle. Arms have rivet holes at centre near end, punched from either side; edges of arms bevelled. Arms at top and sides broader with lightly engraved parallel lines with diagonal hatching between. Lower arm bordered with single engraved line, and simple interlace motif, plain band with engraved outline interlacing twice and making complete loop at either end. Spaces between loops at ends and middle, and surrounding space, filled with cross-hatching. At the rivet end to \tails\" pointed project from the interlace motif suggesting an animal interlace was in the artist's mind; no cross-hatching here but a single hatched cross to one side - i.e. the whole tails off in an unfinished way. Rather crudely done. Back plain except for file marks. Not worn at all.Lab results: (before cleaning) Au Ag Cu Pb Back 12 86 2 1 Rivet head 1 84 7 someLab results: (after cleaning) Au Ag Cu Pb Rivet head 1-2 90 8 1-2 "
