Heavy silver spoon, length 15cm. Round, shallow bowl with deep groove around outer edge. Handle joins directly into base of bowl with slight thickening but no rat's tail effect. Handle long and basically square-sectioned with chamfered edges. 4.7cm from end of handle is a thickening flanked by ridges, then between this moulding and the end a gradual thickening and then a tapering to a fine point.Confirmed as Richborough from Mrs Warhurst, Liverpool Museum 9.3.71.Probably Roman.
