Uncle Wal's words, dictated in 1980. This was his memory of the Coventry Blitz. It was his night off from being a motorcycle despatch rider. His parents house was very near the Alvis factory and railway line. The bombs were being aimed for that but unfortunately hit surrounding properties to my Great Grandparents house.
