My grandfather, Gordon Cullimore, was a professional soldier before WW2. He was based in Hong Kong and my grandmother and mother lived with him there. When war broke out my grandmother and mother were evacuated to Australia and lived in Sydney for the duration. My grandfather was taken prisoner by the Japanese. He survived the war though died of his injuries in 1958.

Only recently we found his letters from the camp and after liberation, the notification of his capture, and details of some Japanese propaganda naming him whilst he was a prisoner.
