Story 1 (see file) is a record of the Mayor of Chipping Norton proactively organising the town in preparation for war, and subsequently welcoming evacuees, then survivors from Dunkirk. Moving to Dorking in the middle of the Battle of Britain for unknown activities.

Story 2 (see file) relates to my experiences as a 7-12 year old in Dorking during the war.
