Two glass gobular beakers

online resource
posted on 2021-10-27, 13:27 authored by Helena HamerowHelena Hamerow
Two glass vessels lying between feet . Larger much fractured and too incomplete for engraving. Smaller is perfect, though surface unusually decomposed.Larger: height 8.3cm in diary [...], pale green glass with spiral trails below neck - pinch bottle.Smaller approx. 6cm - neck slightly more constricted than picture.SCH card asigns these two glass vessels to KAS 259 and KAS 259a; same catalogue numbers used for glass vessels in Sarre grave 220. Based on Maidstone Museum records, they are most likely KAS 260. – D.H.Squat Jars, Harden B VIII a I 4. – B.B.
