Driver P. C. Edwards (father) worked as a tank transporter during the war. He served in Italy and North Africa (Tunisia). He sent postcards back to his wife but did not want to talk about the war afterwards. He was a keen footballer (mentioned in the Middlesex Chronicle). He was prevented from marrying before the war but married a few days after his return.
