This text examines the gender gap in primary school enrollment in Pakistan. Despite government efforts, girls' enrollment remains lower due to factors such as conservative norms, safety concerns, and the perceived cost of travel. Research shows that distance plays a significant role. Low-cost private schools, with female teachers, offer a more accessible option. Ongoing research aims to reduce the gender gap in enrollment through policy interventions.
