Temporary unemployment payment in case of school closure (tijdelijke werkloosheid in geval van sluiting school) was provided to allow people to take time off from their work to care for children when ECEC settings or schools were closed. Before the pandemic, temporary unemployment was granted to workers for economic reasons, technical failure, company holidays and bad weather conditions and force majeure. During the pandemic, this benefit became available in case of ECEC/school closures
