online resource
posted on 2024-06-05, 18:20 authored by Their Finest Hour Project Team

My father was stationed in West Africa at Takoradi as part of the West Africa reinforcement route. I was born on the 7th of May 1944 and my father sent me a telegram on the 25th of May from Takoradi saying "DELIGHTED TO HEAR YOU ARE SAFE AND WELL BEST LOVE FROM DADDY". It gives his address but his name is misspelt as Wilham Swanson instead of William Swanson.
