Private Cyril Bullingham was gifted a propelling pencil by his commanding officer - the inscription reads - 'Pte Bullingham Sudeley Castle Camp Xmas 1942'. He was injured in a jeep crash, probably in 1943, and was invalided from the army as a result. His health was affected by this in later years.

William Foster, believe he served in the South Staffordshire regiment. He was a cook and was at Dunkirk when the BEF was evacuated. He volunteered to remain with his unit, providing tea and cocoa and was one of the last to be evacuated. The photo from 1943, shows that he was still in the army, serving as a cook. The family called him 'uncle' and nicknamed him 'Sweet William'.
