As the daughter-in-law of a former WWII POW in Burma and Thailand, I have a limited knowledge of the circumstances and home life of my father-in-law, Corporal Stanley Bleasdale Bruce (RAF Number 1052033) during the war. However, I believe it is important to tell his story, as I know it, with what little information I have. Much of the information in the attached PDF is garnered from little bits I've heard over the years from my husband, Kevin Bruce, Stanley's son, and his family; from information from the Thailand-Burma Railway Center in Kanchanaburi, Thailand; from letters and postcards sent from the POW camps; and from letters he wrote to his family from India after his release.
