Sibertswold Downs Grave 178

No tumulus; grave, one foot and a half deep, bones pretty sound; no appearance of a coffin. Near the neck, a knotted silver ring, with a bead to it [M 6535], as before. Lower down, was a bone, or ivory, double comb, with two cases of the same over its teeth; it was so rotten that it fell to-pieces with handling; a piece of iron [M 6536] [1] and several links of a small iron chain.
