My story from my grandad about my great-great-grandad.

In WW2 my great-great-grandad was in RAF in the south of England during the Battle of Britain. When the Germans were attacking the airfields, bombing and shooting at the men and aircraft, he was shot by a German bullet which hit him in the chest. The bullet went into his metal cigarette case where it stopped and saved his life. He was injured but survived.

My grandad still has his service medals and he wears them on Remembrance Sunday.
