This is a photograph of Sikh soldier Sarwan Singh Tatla: Sikh, Regiment 11 Division 7. The handwritten notes include:

V.P.O. JHIKKA LADHANA

An AI translation reads: "Mayathi Ghar 24531 / Sikh, Regiment 11 Division 7 / Based at:
Nimera Bikhu Depot, Peswar Kol, Pakistan;
Burma:- There was a fight between the Buddhist Dang city."

Stationed in Burma. And the regiment were victorious here at Bodhi. For which Naik Nath Singh was awarded the VC. They served. together, in the same regiment. Sarwen [sic.] then served in Singapore where he was wounded and then pensioned off.
Currently, resident in Bradford.
