CXV. A woman's grave. Two glass vessels [KAS 260] between the feet; the larger much fractured and too incomplete for engraving; the lesser perfect, though with a surface more than usually decomposed. Two bronze keys, and one of iron, corroded together.[1] A quantity of beads of clay and porcelain [KAS 288] lay beneath the skull, and among them two carbuncle pendants set in silver [KAS 414], exactly alike, but one imperfect both in stone and setting. On the breast a circular fibula [KAS 399] of bronze gilt and set with garnets and ivory. The bone of some carnivorous animal lay near.[1]See The Celt, the Roman, and the Saxon, p. 424. - J.B.
