My father was interviewed by Dr Joseph Quinn in summer 2023. He was on Crew #675 (flying 32 missions with Captain Warren Sharrock) of the 466th Bomb Group, 96th Combat Wing, 2nd Air Division of the mighty 8th Air Force. Please find attached a number of his pictures, artifacts and a booklet he had made for a reunion (includes his group, all their missions, the air base and other facts).

History

Item list and details

There are two pictures of Bob's crew. One of him in basic training in the army in 1942. A picture of Bob and his brother Dick and sister. A picture from a scrapbook of Bob and Dick Hughes (who was in the infantry in the Battle of the Bulge and had trench foot). There are two pictures of a plane that was made from scrap metal from the Attlebridge "elephant's graveyard". The booklet was compiled by Bob for a crew reunion. It includes pictures of the crew, names of crew, missions flown and a map of the Attlebridge and East Anglia area (with the 96th Bomb Wing bases).
