Nancy Lawler nee Norris (my stepmother - born 1921)

- Nancy worked in a Munitions Factory during the War. The Factory was on the other side of London from where she lived in Stoke Newington so she had to travel on the"milk" train to get to work, getting up early and getting home late. One day she came home to find the back of her house knocked down by a bomb.

- Nancy did not have a good war - her experience was so different from my Mother's (who had an exciting time traveling the UK as a radar operator) as she saw the battering of her home city. She would never watch war films and went out of the room whenever they were on TV.
