Refugees from Nazi Germany - Ruth Mayer & Family

My family and I were refugees from Nazi Germany and my paternal grandparents and other family members all died in the concentration camps. There is not a lot more to say. We were so lucky to escape!

Contrary to present concerns, as refugees who did not even speak any English, we were made so, so welcome and everyone in the neighbourhood did all they could to help. We never ever suffered any abuse or discrimination! And yes, we did cross the channel but it was by passenger ship with visas!
