Recollections of War and Post-War Peace Movement

online resource
posted on 2024-06-05, 20:12 authored by Their Finest Hour Project Team

Karl was born in 1905. He had letter exchanges with a member of a German peace delegation which met with the Bishop of Coventry after the war. Karl worked for Dunlop, in the weapons industry, during the war. His factory was moved to a coal mine at the start of the war where he worked with women in gun manufacturing. His family was moved to a farm and with help of local police they managed to capture a German soldier who was trying to sneak into Coventry as an engineer. The police information is preserved. There was another German agent in the region already whose codename was Annabella. Later there was another agent named Margaret Morrison but it is unclear if they are the same person or not.
