posted on 2024-06-05, 18:59 authored by Their Finest Hour Project Team<p dir="ltr">Jack enlisted on 10th June 1929.<br>He sailed for East Africa from Liverpool on 27th October 1938, returning home on 13th July 1945.<br>He fought the Italians in East Africa, the Vichy French in Madagascar and the Japanese in Burma. <br>He was Mentioned in Despatches for an act of bravery in the Madagascar Campaign. <br>He was bayoneted through the jaw in Burma.</p>
