RAF Training in South Africa

online resource
posted on 2024-06-05, 19:27 authored by Their Finest Hour Project Team

My uncle Reginald Levi was posted to South Africa and learnt to fly for the RAF. It was a revelation for a lad from North London. The war finished a week before he earned his "Wings." He was tempted to stay in South Africa and the airforce but returned to England, eventually settling in Somerset, working for the railways as a civil engineer.
