Pte George Lemmon

<p dir="ltr">12 and a half years of service, served in India, North Africa and finally in Italy at Monte Cassino. When the battle ceased, George went absent for 7 months. He finally returned and had to serve time as a deserter. My book "George: Hero, Deserter, Lover". Follows his army career from a young boy of 18 years in 1936, to a mature soldier until he was demobbed in 1946. My father was so disillusioned by his experience that he destroyed all records and medals. I have the official duplicates from the War Office in Scotland.</p>
