Large ring-bead, diam. 2.9cm, thickness c. 7mm. Basic bead made of translucent olive brown glass, surface iridescent and deteriorated. Inlaid with 2 different composite marvered trails: one a spiral thread of pale olive green and opaque yellow glass, the other more deteriorated but apparently a spiral trail of opaque white and translucent jade green or turquoise blue glass. There is a green and yellow spiral trail around the edge of the hole on either side.Faussett called them 'vermicular' and this about sums them up. The trails are laid on clumsily in loops, occasionally turning into interlacing knots. There is less of the blue-white trail. The surface of this bead is much battered.
