Although he did type letters to his family during the war, it is unknown if he was the author. This typed up poem is amongst the war papers and photos from Lt. Col. A.W. Shirley, who served with the Ox. and Bucks. at Dunkirk and throughout the Second World War. Although he did type letters to his family during the war, it is unknown if he was the author.
