From the 2012/13 course description: This is a readings course, constructed around a theme that is defined by a particular event, issue, or phenomenon. The student is introduced to various perspectives of thought in his or her examination of the theme using film, art, classical readings in the arts, sciences or business literature, and other non-business disciplines. Students will read classic and modern articles and texts that provide historical and/or cultural context to topics of interest to managers. These courses are intended to encourage students to examine modern business problems and issues from the point of view of various academic disciplines, including those not usually associated with business education. This used to be a core course on the MBA program. This information has been collected for the Post-Discipline Online Syllabus Database. The database explores the use of literature by schools of professional education in North America. It forms part of a larger project titled Post-Discipline: Literature, Professionalism, and the Crisis of the Humanities, led by Dr Merve Emre with the assistance of Dr Hayley G. Toth. You can find more information about the project at Data was collected and accurate in 2021/22.
