MS 723, folio 35: Sibertswold boxes. No. 24 \Brass hinges [image of barrel lock] [image of hasp]\"Pair of bronze hinges from a box, total length 3.45cm. Very neatly made of sheet bronze, comprising 2 shield-shaped tabs with 3 rivets a piece, now missing, one with a rectangular piece folded over behind, cut away in centre to take the folded tab of the other, both being wrapped around an iron bolt which pivoted the construction. Scored diagonal across on back of one. On other fragment of wood adhering, its grain lying horizontally across parallel to the hinge mechanism.Wooden box described in grave report associated with brass hinges (M 6448), barrel lock (M 6449) and iron fitting (catch?). – D.H.
