Pair of copper-alloy S-shaped hooks

Pair of bronze S-shaped hooks, lengths 2.5cm and 2.2cm. Both made of round-sectioned bronze wire with tapering ends bent into a broad S-shape, with ends bent back to equal length. In middle decorated with three transverse grooves. One damaged.S-shaped hooks in Finglesham Grave 20 (Kent) have been intepreted as garter fittings ( Hawkes & Grainger 2006). – B.B.
