In July 1944, at the age of one month, I was issued with an ID card that expired on my 16th birthday.
A small "thank you" card from two Canadian nurses from the Lady Nelson to thank my mother for showing them around the hospital at Aldershot where she was nursing Canadian troops.
The Lady Nelson was a Canadian Hospital Ship that, after the war, was used to transport "war brides" to their new lives in Canada.
