The course aims to create a learning climate conducive to motivating and inspiring fourth-year students to read specific pieces of literature and reflect on their meaning as it relates to them as physicians-in-training and to their patients, past, present, and future. The course will be conducted as a graduate seminar with time for reading, writing, and reflection. This one-month elective will be offered yearly to MS IV students interested in an interdisciplinary-based approach to patient care, with focus on the humanities. Faculty from multiple disciplines, including Obstetrics-Gynecology, Internal Medicine, Hematology-Oncology, Bioethics, Liberal Arts and The Regenstrief Institute will participate. Students will meet three days/week for one month. Elective only.
