This Second World War Story begins in 1940, when Jozef Soczawa joined a partisan group that would support the Polish military. Partisans would blow up bridges or train tracks. My grandad would hide during the day in the woods and at night would come back home at night.

Jozef Soczawa was on the Nazi wanted list and hunted. Sometimes he would hide in a tight space between two walls and he had to hop in through the attic floorboards. He also had to hide in a stack of hay.
