My Memories of the Plymouth Blitz in WW2

online resource
posted on 2024-06-05, 19:35 authored by Their Finest Hour Project Team

Father, Erwin Williams, was a Special Constable in Plymouth during the war - worked as both an ironmonger and a part-time Special Constable in wartime.

He also had a WAAF lodger during this period.

Shrapnel piece fell on their terraced house, and came through the glass veranda.

On another occasion, his mother was going to the outside loo during an Air Raid. She put a 'toy helmet' on her head. When she came back it was dented.
