<p dir="ltr">At the start of the war, my great grandad John Howard was a policeman and was one of the first to drive a police car with white bumpers and blacked out headlights. He then joined the RAF in 1942. He trained as a navigator and flew Mosquito bombers from RAF Northolt just outside London.</p>
