online resource
posted on 2024-06-05, 18:20 authored by Their Finest Hour Project Team

Joseph Robert Waddington was my great-grandad and fought in WW2 as a runner. He was responsible for processing the supply of food, fuel and ammunition. He tragically died on 28th September 1945 and was buried in Belgium, Brussels Town Cemetery. However, he died before he even got to find out my great-grandma was pregnant with my nana and my nana never got to meet him. His grave number is 172 and in 2019, my nana got his name inscribed in St. Paul's cenotaph.
