Kenneth James Bowden was a prisoner of war from 1941 to 1945. He was captured in Libya, moved from Italy to Germany, and finally released by American soldiers. A letter was received saying he was missing. There was pressure on return- of meeting a daughter never seen. He remembered being given pasta in Italy. The punishment was no Red Cross parcels were being given. He received the African Star Medal. His job was returned by his employer even after four years of absence.
