I have come to tell you about my paternal grandfather, William Cameron Shaw. He was a commander in the Navy. Originally, he was with the Merchant Navy and he got seconded into the navy during WWII. He ended up getting an OBE.

I have brought along the OBE.
I have a photograph of him.
I have a photocopy of the London Gazette.
I have a newspaper clipping of him showing a Duchess his boat.
I have his field medical card. He was discharged on medical grounds.

I have also brought along a picture of my maternal grandfather - Peter Manderson - with the Home Guard.

I also have a photo of my Dad, William Cameron Shaw. He was seconded into the Royal Scottish Fusiliers after the war. He was given a commission second lieutenant and discharged in 1948.
