Contributor's father was in the Royal Observer Corp and Home Guard in Lymington, worked as a design engineer, reserve occupation. He was on the roof when they bombed Coventry. He didn't talk much about this experience. Signed up around 1939/40 and served for full duration of the war. As part of the Home Guard, they prepped in case they were invaded. Did stay in touch with the people he worked with during the war.
