In the navy, born 1925. Didn't join the navy until 1943. John was a Radio telegraphist (special) taking messages with morse code, lights, Russian convoys. He wouldn't talk about his experiences. He would talk about how sea sick they'd be. They'd sleep in hammocks. After the war, HMS Myngs was sold to the Egyptian Navy in 1953. The ship was then sunk by the Israeli military.
