Name was George. He signed up at 16 before the war. He signed up in the war for the Royal Engineers. He was sent to France and the troops retreated and he was sent to Dunkirk. He was involved in blowing up bridges as the enemy advanced. They drove lorries into the sea. George was on the beach at Dunkirk for three days. He rowed out to HMS Ross (a minesweeper). This was all documented in his record of war experience. Died in 1994 (or 1997). He met Prince Harry. He came back from the war and trained again. He was sent to Newcastle on Tyne before D Day and met wife Annie at a dance. She was a WAAF.
