The medals were awarded to my father Mr John Verdun Aisne Richardson who was a medic in the War. Originally from Liverpool one of 14 children. All the brothers and sisters who went away to war came back alive. All the ones who stayed at home died from illness etc.

My father was named after a battle in World War 1. He was born on August 19th 1916 and died in 2012 with lots of stories of hiding from the Germans in ditches and playing Russian roulette!!
