online resource
posted on 2024-06-05, 18:04 authored by Their Finest Hour Project Team

Marcel Peppiatt helped to liberate Caen, Normandy. He worked on small mobile tanks. He was captured by Germans but overpowered his captors and was able to escape.

His mother was born in Alsace; he grew up in a place where half the people were German and half were French. He married someone of Huguenot descent.

A woman wrote a letter to Marcel, who was a Major at this point, asking for information on the death of Captain John Wishart. The contributor provided these letters.
